Republicans apparently really hate hope as a concept.

I have read several republicans whose attitude towards Obama was that they essentially just hated hope. Any sort of mention of "The Obama", "The One" and any variant on Hopey McChancey actually means: "Hope? Bah Humbug. I am a republican, and I believe in total hopelessness. People are not allowed to hope for a better life and that their country improves. I voted McCain, because he means sure doom for everybody. Hope is for suckers!"
